When you decided to leave the Armed Forces, you would have started working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP). This probably included looking at the skills you have and working on a CV. The service you receive from the CTP will depend on your length of service.
Special Armed Forces services
There are some organisations which are dedicated to helping service leavers find employment.
- Forces Recruitment Services is a recruitment consultancy for veterans.
- Regular Forces Employment Association (RFEA) offers support to veterans who no longer qualify for Career Transition Partnership support.
- Military Resettlement Headquarters is a free service for ex-military to upload CVs, search jobs and get other recruitment advice
Every Jobcentre Plus district has an Armed Forces champion. If you would like to speak to the champion you will need to request an appointment.
Most employers now advertise vacancies online. The main recruitment sites will let you search by area as well as the type of job you would like. You can also sign up for email alerts so that you find out about the newest vacancies as soon as they’re posted. You’ll find some useful links on the right.
